The Ultimate Protection for Low-Temperature Sterilization

Unlike standard medical paper, which cannot withstand the conditions of hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization, our HILEX pouches utilize Tyvek®. Tyvek is a tough, highly porous material made of high-density polyethylene fibers. It allows rapid penetration of sterilizing gases while preventing the entry of microorganisms.

These pouches are essential for heat-sensitive instruments, endoscopes, and electronics that must be sterilized via low-temperature methods like Plasma (VH2O2) or EO gas.

Key Advantages

Tyvek® Superiority

Outstanding resistance to tearing, punctures, and moisture compared to medical paper.

Rapid Degassing

High porosity allows sterilizing gases to enter and safely exit (degas) quickly.

Integrated Indicators

Accurate, water-based chemical indicators for both Plasma and EO cycles printed directly on the pouch.

Aseptic Presentation

Engineered for a clean, fiber-free peel, ensuring instruments remain sterile during opening.

Low-Temp Safe

Materials will not degrade, melt, or emit toxic fumes during Plasma or EO sterilization.

Strong Sealing

Compatible with standard heat sealers, forming a robust, continuous barrier seal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these pouches in a standard steam autoclave?
No. Tyvek® is not designed for the high temperatures of standard steam autoclaves (121°C/134°C) and may melt or warp. These pouches are specifically for low-temperature methods like Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma and Ethylene Oxide.
What temperature should the heat sealer be set to for Tyvek?
Sealing Tyvek requires a lower temperature than standard medical paper. Typically, a sealing temperature between 115°C and 130°C is recommended, but you must calibrate this based on your specific sealing machine to avoid melting the Tyvek.
Why choose Tyvek over medical paper for Plasma sterilization?
Standard medical paper absorbs hydrogen peroxide, which can interfere with the sterilization cycle and cause the cycle to abort. Tyvek does not absorb the sterilant, allowing the cycle to complete successfully while providing a superior microbial barrier.
